a sweet friendship

Aw man... the kids have been sick. Poor little ones! What started out as a runny nose turned into a cough and wouldn't you know that turned into a sinus infection for Kai and both kids had eye infections in both eyes. Not to mention both kids are teething. Cadan now has all four of his incisiors and Kai is working on two teeth to add to the two he is already sporting. All of that to say, whew, I could use a day where my shirt has not been snotted on repeatedly through the day. I got several such days when my dear friend Bethany came to visit! The boys had little crushes on her! It was so cute!

Cadan could articulate it better than Kai...and was super shy first thing in the morning and then as soon as Bethany would leave the room, he would shout at the top of his lungs "BEBE!!"... then he would giggle and giggle when she popped her head into the room.

Kai was also enamored and would give her unprecident snuggles ... and he would smile from ear to ear whenever he saw Bethany!

She shot some really cute pics of the boys when we went to the Henpeck Market! The evening just seemed like the quintessential fall day.

Often being the one behind the camera, I wonder sometimes if the kids will grow up and wonder why mom isn't in many of the pictures! So I was thankful for these precious shots...

So thanks friend! You were just what I needed to make it through that rough spell!

PS-

After trying three times now to post pictures of our fabulous evening at the Ring Farm... and loosing all three posts, I have decided to retire that idea. Trust me when I say, there is a great picture of Dave and Joe sporting some head lamps for the corn maze adventure we took that night. Oh, and we picked the cutest little pumpkins! Okay, okay, I'll try one more time... for your viewing pleasure... check back again soon!

FALL--LA-LA-LA-LA

The things you take pictures of and the things you don't. Things I forgot to take pictures of this week: Dave's surprise birthday party that I have been planning for a month... hope those memories last a lifetime cuz their ain't no documentation of that. (I take that back! Thanks Katrina for snapping some shots to document the occassion!!) Other things I did not take pictures of: my kids meeting their cousins for the first time and none of my brother and his wife whom I haven't seen in years. Pictures I did take... well, of course, pictures of the park. You know because such a time should be documented.

We were having so much fun...

We even let Kai crawl around in the mulch...

All the boys were bonding...

It was all fun and games until a lady shrieked " A mouse just crawled on my shoulder" and on closer expection, "these benches are infested with mice!" ...and sure enough a mere five minutes later we saw a little brown field mouse scurrying across the wooden playground. Hmmm, looks like a good time to go investigate the trains!

And that we did.

And then, as we were leaving we caught the sun just right.

A whole Disney moment happened... all the woodland creatures came out to play, and frolic in the sun. We even saw a hedgehog at one point.

Strange, but true.

Fireman Small

Guess who came to our house today. Yep. The fire department.

No. I did NOT set the house on fire. I know I have been busy. I know. I know. I did find Kai in the DVD cabinent today. But I was still not responsible for the fire truck arriving at our house right at the end of naptime.

There was a certain little boy who was fascinated to say the least.

You mean, you actually fight real fires?

But just when he thought the day couldn't get any better:

Yep. He got to sit in the truck and pretend to drive!

Too bad Kai slept through the whole thing. And the reason for all of the drama you ask? Sigh. Well, nothing really that dramatic. They just came to repaint the fire hydrant in our yard. But it did keep you on your toes, didn't it? Come on, you know it did.
